Senior IT Specialist #16531095

Our client, a Legal organization located in Palo Alto, CA is looking for a Senior IT Specialist to join their team on a full-time basis.  Ideal candidates will have experience ensuring that office computers, printers, scanners, audio visual, mobile devices and other computer or telephone-related devices are productively deployed and used.  The Sr. IT Specialist will assist the service desk personnel and local technology department with troubleshooting and operational maintenance of desktop systems.   The annual salary is between $104,000 - $124,800.

NOTE: Candidates must have experience working in a Legal environment and have experience using iManage legal software.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Utilize a ticketing system to track customer reports related to hardware, software, telephone, mobile devices, and peripheral issues.
  • Conduct daily monitoring using the User Experience Monitoring application.
  • Install and configure desktops, laptops, and telephony equipment in accordance with company-defined installation templates or guidelines.
  • Assist HR and Facilities with ergonomic equipment setups.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain PC peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
  • Provide on-site technical support, including computer setups and teardowns, office relocations, and troubleshooting for printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other technology equipment as needed.
  • Actively participate in pilot testing groups and perform quality assurance for system builds, software deployments, and updates.
  • Diagnose customer hardware and software issues as first-line support and escalate complex problems to senior technicians as necessary.
  • Enter and manage data in inventory databases to track hardware and software changes, moves, and updates. Monitor all Change Forms related to new hires, departures, support requests, and name changes.
  • Be familiar with internal software applications and prepare documents, charts, graphs, and spreadsheets as needed. Coordinate Change Forms for IS functions within the local office.
  • Set up and maintain audiovisual equipment in conference rooms.
  • Provide meeting setup and technical support for video conferencing using web-based platforms, as well as onsite technical support for off-site or remote trials and conferences.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wireless connectivity issues for both internal and external users.
  • Support telephone programming and handset maintenance under the direction of the technology department.
  • Offer backup support for the help desk and technical services as required.
  • Coordinate hardware and software repairs with vendors and resolve technical issues.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or required.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant technical experience, including at least 1 year in data management.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems, including but not limited to Windows 7 and Windows 10, and working knowledge of the MS Office Suite from 2016 and later versions.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, with relevant certifications. Alternatively, a high school diploma with at least 5 years of network administration experience, supplemented by relevant coursework and certifications.
  • Preferred knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016.
  • Basic knowledge of networking architecture, including but not limited to TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS, is required.
  • Prior experience working in a law firm or professional services industry is required.
  • Experience in a smaller setting where the technician has handled a broad range of IT responsibilities is highly desirable.

  • Perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional, client-focused attitude and demeanor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
  • Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
