Our client, a leading California-based law firm, is seeking a skilled Enterprise Applications Engineer to join its innovative IT team on a full-time basis. Ideal candidates will have experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise-level systems and applications to ensure reliability, security, and optimal performance. This role will report to the Director of IT and Engineering and will play a hands-on role in troubleshooting complex issues, managing application deployments, and overseeing endpoint management in line with security best practices. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco and the salary range is between $135,000 - $165,000 annually plus benefits depending on education, specific software knowledge and overall experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support and maintain enterprise applications, including business-critical software, Citrix environments, SQL, and SCCM.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues efficiently, providing clear and professional communication throughout the process.
Manage the full lifecycle of applications — from packaging and deployment to updates and retirement — following established best practices.
Maintain and optimize workstation and server images to ensure consistency, security, and reliability.
Participate in monthly security updates and ensure all endpoints remain compliant with security standards. Address urgent vulnerabilities as needed.
Proactively monitor systems and applications to detect and resolve issues before they affect end users.
Serve as an escalation point for application related and helpdesk issues, performing root cause analysis and developing long-term solutions.
Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation aligned with internal policies and change management processes.
Provide after-hours support for system maintenance, upgrades, and critical issues when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Five plus years of progressive experience in enterprise application support or a similar IT role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment. Candidates with greater experience may be considered for a senior role.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for operating system deployment, application packaging, and patch management.
Strong background in Citrix, Azure, Active Directory (AD), and Group Policy administration.
Practical knowledge of PowerShell or similar scripting tools for automating tasks and workflows.
Familiarity with legal or professional services software, including but not limited to iManage Work, Microsoft 365, Litera Desktop Suite (CAM), Intune MDM, and Zoom.
Experience with SQL Server, including basic query development and database management.
Understanding of ITIL principles and adherence to IT service management best practices.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on user-centric solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Flexibility to support critical systems outside of regular business hours when needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
