Fire Protection Inspector

Summary of Duties:
  • Working under general supervision, the incumbent performs duties involving the inspection of buildings and areas for compliance with the fire, life safety and associated codes adopted by the Trust.
  • Identifies, documents and recommends corrective actions for deficiencies and violations discovered during inspections.
  • Reviews Fire Code permit applications and recommends for or against issuance.
  • Coordinates with local agencies in emergency preparedness and assists in the investigation of fires.
  • The incumbent of this position is required to wear an appropriate badge and the uniform of a fire safety inspector/fire code enforcer while on duty.
  • The incumbent of this position is designated as an emergency response official and is subject to recall.
The selected candidate will need to complete online trainings, upon starting the position. Time for completing the training will be paid as working hour by the Trust.
  • Online COVID-19 awareness training about best practices in social distancing, mask and face-coverings, general COVID-19 safety.
  • Online security training within 30 days of receiving such access, as this position has access to the Trust’s federal information systems.  Additional annual online training as required.
COVID-19 Practices:
Below is an overview of practices at the Trust.
  • All employees are to take online COVID-19 awareness training about best practices in social distancing, mask and face-coverings, general COVID-19 safety.
  • Buildings where Trust staff work are cleaned frequently during the workday; this includes restrooms, kitchens, and high touch areas. Trash/recycling are removed often.
  • Sanitation stations are being installed in buildings where Trust staff work. Hand sanitizer bottles are located in common areas and near copiers.
  • The PresidiGo Shuttle seats are sprayed with sanitizer hourly, and the busses are deep-cleaned twice daily. Shuttles also feature hand sanitizer.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as face masks are available to all staff working onsite.
  • Staff are required to undergo a temperature and symptom check each day before starting work or entering a building.
  • Temperature checks are currently available at Buildings 1750, 1450, and 1351, and will expand to other Trust-occupied building soon.
  • All Trust employees and contractors – even those who are not physically in the park – should continue to practice physical distancing, wear face coverings, and wash hands frequently. It’s the best things we can do to protect ourselves and each other.

  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
  • Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
All employment is contingent on candidates passing a background check and providing at least two positive professional references from prior managers.
