Our client, a Non-Profit organization located in Napa, CA is looking for a talented IT Network Administrator to join their team on a full-time basis. Ideal candidates will have experience planning, implementing, and maintaining LAN and WAN infrastructures, including managing hardware, software, telecommunications systems, and IBM mainframe components. The IT Network Administrator will oversee Helpdesk operations, resolve escalated issues, and provide second-tier support to IT Technicians Levels 1 and 2. The annual salary is $78,700 plus benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Helpdesk support and respond to user requests for assistance with hardware and software issues.
Serve as the primary contact for the maintenance, report generation, query development, and training for the client database (SANDIS), as well as perform operational duties to maintain the AS/400 computer system.
Provide second-tier support for IT Technicians, developing and maintaining documentation and knowledge-based articles to assist with resolving common issues.
Escalate complex problems to the IT Supervisor when necessary.
Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
Monitor and optimize the performance, security, and reliability of network systems.
Install and configure network hardware, software, and applications, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
Manage network user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and regulations.
Monitor and evaluate network traffic, usage, and capacity to identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to ensure the efficient and effective use of network resources.
Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, equipment, and software.
Recommend system upgrades and configure end-user systems and network equipment as needed.
Maintain network security by monitoring systems for potential vulnerabilities, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation measures.
Troubleshoot technical issues, such as email delivery failures or authentication problems.
Assist users with account-related issues, including password resets across all systems.
Provide support for mobile devices using Office 365, including Android and iPhone devices.
Deliver user training on the effective use of Office 365.
Diagnose and resolve hardware or software issues related to agency printer networks.
Perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and security of agency backups for all systems, including IBM Power 8.
REQUIREMENTS:
3 to 5 years of experience in network administration or a related field.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
Proficient in working with network routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Solid understanding of security protocols and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, along with relevant certifications. Alternatively, a high school diploma with at least 5 years of network administration experience, supplemented by additional relevant coursework and certifications.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have access to personal or reliable transportation during and outside of working hours.
Maintain automobile liability insurance in compliance with California law.
This position is primarily office-based, though remote work may be available.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
